Not sure what the new game modes are in Modern Warfare? In this week’s Mod Breakdown we explain the variety of objective game modes you can experience in the world of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. From the traditional multiplayer modes to engaging in joint operations in Spec Ops mode, get ready for a challenge.

Spec ops

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Spec Ops

Spec Ops puts you and a team of three other players against the AI as you attempt to clear out enemies, having to complete objectives and stay alive. Spec Ops missions can be extremely difficult, they require lots of communication, planning, and coordination. This new survival mode can only be played on PS4 since its a one-year exclusive.

Cyber Attack

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Cyber Attack

In Cyber Attack you and your team have to try and grab an EMP from the middle of the map and plant it on the opposing team’s server. This can get hectic since your opponents are trying to do the same objective. Its always good to have one to two-player on your team play OBJ while everyone else clears a path and provides covering fire.

Search and Destroy

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Search and Destroy

If you played Call of Duty in the past you know this classic, Search and Destroy! The objective is to plant the bomb on the opposing team’s plant site. Teams will take turns defending or attacking two different bomb sites. Keep in mind you only get life per round.

Team Deathmatch

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Team Deathmatch

The most popular multiplayer game mode of all time. Team DeathMatch is a fight to the death! You and your team versus opposing team, the objective is simple, your team has to get the most kills to win.

Domination

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Domination

You and your team have to fight for control over three separate flag points across the map. Once caped, your team will have to defend each point from the opposing team to prevent them from capturing. The first team to reach 200 points win the game, the more flags your team controls the more points each kill is worth. Domination is a tactical slow pace game mode.

Headquarters

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Headquarters

An objective-based game mode where teams race around the map for control over the Headquarters, by capturing and defending varying locations your team’s score will increase. If your team has control over an HQ you only get one shot at defending it since there’s no respawns on defense.

Ground War

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Ground War

Large scale battle with two massive teams going against each other. The maps are much bigger, they have a variety of vehicles for you to choose from. Your team has to outscore the enemy team by holding the most points. Be careful walking in open areas since the rate of players sniping is high.

Gunfight

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Gunfight

Gunfight is a 2v2 battle taking place on a small map. The aim is to kill the opposing team, after 40 secs a flag will spawn in the center of the map first team to cap the flag wins. Has to be one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare most intense game modes considering the close combat environment.

Free-For-All

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Game mode: Free For All

Another classic game mode for all you lone wolfs. Free-For-All is every player for them selfs, only best will end up on top.
